My daughter was born bald, Her hair grew very slowly and was dead straight. She is now 7 and the ends are curling, like little ringlettes. Should I expect her hair to become fully curly?

Genes are very curious things. Especcialy gene expression (the way genes are shown physically) these types of changes are very common. I believe if I am remembering my bio right this is a form of codominance. Yes I would expect her hair to become more curly over time.

hormones will cause that but she may not have a full blown case of curly hair it might just be at her ends period

I was the same when I was little. Kids just change like that. Its normal. you never know if its going to become fully curly or not. mine did the same thing and it just stayed wavy. But, since Ive been pregnet its been getting really curly

hair does different things.. (even straight hair) in humidity .. is there a chance you are experiencing some hummidity issues currently ??

my lil girl was bald at birth and as her hair (slowly) grew ... she had the sweetest curls... and then alas ... it became poker straight ... who knows ... what will come asage and hormones come to play in life...

i myself had straight hair untill i had kids .. and then i got this daymed wave thing that happens everytime my hair get wet ... 'cept its only down the back ... no happy medium ...

humidity now is havoc for me .. specially if i take the time to straighten it ...

As your child gets older and this happens to everyone their body changes and so with growth comes hormone changes. And that will cause a persons hair to change from straight to curly.

I would check with a pediatrician to make sure that it is not a health issue. My hair goes between straight and curly, but it usually is caused by weather etc.

well does she have a vitamin deficiency ... ? that could be one reason, also if you have recently switched shampoo's and/or if you are using pantene .. these could be reasons but try not to worry too much it might just be natural ... :-)

up until age 9 my hair was completely straight. not one single curl. now my hair is verrrrry curly and verrrry thick. so there is a chance your daughters hair wil become curly. or maybe it will just be wavy.
