How can I make my hair straight permanently in humid weather or after I come out of the shower?

I may be going to florida from new hampshire soon, and I need to know a way to "permanently" (and yes I KNOW that you cant make hair straight forever, but at least make the hair I have now straight until the roots grow in) straighten my hair. ive heard of japanese straightening treatments but I have long hair so im worried they will be super expensive. what else can I do?

You can go to a salon and have it "relaxed." I don't know how expensive that would be and no matter what it won't be perfectly strait but it will be easier to manage.

Definatley do not put any type of permanet straightner on your hair..it FRYS it and makes it even more frizzy!!.. I myself have curly, long, thick hair. After you get out of the shower let it air dry for about an hour or so then take a hair dryer to it, then wait a couple of minutes until you cool down and then put it in sections and straighten it.. Also I dunno where your located but here they have straigthners at salons that you can order called CHI'S they work GREAT!! but they are also very pricey but they are worth it!!
