How can I get my hair to be straight and stay straight?

my hair is like the horrible kind of wavy that will not stay straight sometimes, it won't go curly at other times either and if I blow dry it, it gets about 3 feet across complete frizz. Is there any special trick that will make my hair straighter? I use a flat iron, but it takes up to an hour and 30 minutes and some of it won't stay straight, does anyone recommend a brand of flat iron or a product, shampoo, anything?!!!!!

YUK DONT GET A PERM, THATS FOR OLD PPL, and besides it just rewins your hair, you can get it perminentaly straightened , which is chemically straightened, or just do what i do, straighten it each day, with a taming product for your hair, it makes it stay straight for about three days, then just do it again, it sounds lie hard work but its pretty easy
